OSM Competition Strings

November 22 to 26, 2016, in Montreal

The 2016 edition of the OSM Manulife Competition has been launched! Devoted to strings and organ, this edition will see the Competition turn over more than $100,000 in prizes and scholarships to competitors once again this year.

Please take note of an important change – the deadline for submission of registration materials has been moved up to May 13, 2016. The repertoire and Competition rules are available right now at www.osm.ca/competition.

With a variety of activities this year, competitors will enjoy an enriching, unforgettable experience. Rounds before an audience, masterclasses, and mentoring from OSM musicians are some of the highpoints of the Competition week.

We would appreciate if you could kindly share this with your musician colleagues and teachers, as well as with young Canadian musicians of your acquaintance likely to be interested in taking part in the Competition.

Our most prestigious national performance competition, the OSM Manulife Competition is an essential event for young Canadian performers. Since its inception in 1940, the Competition has enabled over 350 prize-winners to make a name for themselves, among them James Ehnes, Jonathan Crow, Alexandre da Costa, Angela Hewitt, Jan Lisiecki, André Laplante, Jens Lindemann, Alain Trudel, Jean-François Rivest, Karina Gauvin, Louis Lortie, Gordon Bintner and a number of OSM musicians, including concertmaster Andrew Wan, Stéphane Lévesque, Marianne Dugal and Pierre-Vincent Plante.

We hope to reach the greatest number of participants, and we thank you for your cooperation!
